Whats good for Gamecube game a new player?

I liked Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and 3. And games such as Warcraft, and Pokemon. Are there similar games those gamecube? Or what would you recommend for someone who aspires to video games. I do not shoot 'em up games or sports games or anime that are too dramatic. To thank you your opinion!

In my opinion, Super Smash Bros. Melee is one of best games for people from Gamecube. This is a favorite of many people. This game does not Sonic but it has Mario, Donkey Kong, Jigglypuff, and all those other endearing characters. It is a game all about fighting eachother.
